Lottario was a weekly lotto game drawn every Saturday night on Global Television. It was hosted regularly by Bill Lawrence ( of Tiny Talent Time hour fame) until December 1989. The Lottario Jackpot that week was over $529,000 and the draw was hosted by Faye Dance.
This video predates the Early Bird draw, so probably circa early 1980′s. Lottario was Ontario’s first online lottery game and back then there were only 39 balls … Oh, the good old days!

While it is a game many lotto players ignore, Lottario can be very rewarding – as these Lottario winners can testify.
Alberto B. Dela Rosa won $2,633,152 in the Lottario draw on October 11, 2008.
Dela Rosa says, “I used the self-serve ticket checker to check my ticket” – a feature not available in my native Australia. OLGC are to be commended on installing self-serve ticket checkers; a recent scandal in Australia involved a lotto agent supposedly telling a customer “Sorry, no win” – and then collecting the win himself later, according to a TV exposure.
Dela Rosa’s top priority was to fix his mother’s house in the Philippines. Other priorities include paying for his children’s education and then investing the balance of his win.
Dela Rosa is a married 48-year old with three sons; he purchased his winning lottario ticket in Kenora.
Cindy Nelson of Kakabeka Falls won $822,537 in the Lottario draw on February 21, 2009.
Again, Cindy used the self-serve ticket checker. Nelson, a 36 year-old married mother of one plans to bank her windfall.
